HELP BRING KOTH TO CHICAGO
King of the Hill Pinball is headed to Pinball Expo. Help get KOTH and Houseball to Chicago
A HOMEBREW PINBALL MACHINE BUILT FROM SCRATCH
KOTH started when my daughter was born. I was home with a newborn and couldn't exactly go out and play pinball whenever I wanted anymore, so I started learning how to code, working on playfield layouts, and seeing if I could actually build my own pinball machine.
That little idea got out of hand pretty quickly. I came up with the theme, layout and rules, learned to cut my own playfields and 3D model parts, wired and built the machine, and programmed the entire game. Along the way I made a bunch of friends in the homebrew community who helped me figure things out and bring some of my ideas to life, including the grill mech.
Somewhere in all of that I realized this is what I want to be doing. I started helping other people with their games, programming games and features for other builders, making Godot tutorials, and getting involved wherever I could. That eventually turned into the idea for Houseball Amusements, a way for me to keep making my own games while also helping more people build games.
KOTH is where all of this started. Now I want to get it out to Pinball Expo, share it with the community that helped me get here, and then come home and start building the next one.
HELP GET KOTH TO EXPO
FAST Pinball has generously offered to help transport KOTH to Chicago, which takes care of a huge part of getting the game there.
I'm raising money to help cover the rest of the trip. Airfare, hotel, Expo costs, and the other expenses that come with getting myself to Chicago for the week.
If you'd like to help get KOTH to Expo, any amount genuinely helps. Every dollar raised here is going toward making the trip happen.
CAN’T CONTRIBUTE? YOU CAN STILL HELP
Sharing KOTH, following along, or just spreading the word about Houseball helps too. I’m still wrapping up KOTH, getting it ready for Expo, starting game #2, helping other homebrewers through Houseball, and seeing where all of this goes next.
